32G by 4 mm (the standard spec)
For almost every adult on a GLP-1 pen, 32 gauge by 4 mm is the right default. 32 gauge is among the thinnest diameters available, so it is the most comfortable, and 4 mm reaches subcutaneous fat reliably across the BMI range, which is why the GLP-1 trials standardized on it. The universal pen-needle thread means any standard brand at this spec fits, so buy on price and availability. Longer needles are a clinician's call, not a default.

- Does NovoFine fit all pens?
- NovoFine and other standard pen needles use the universal thread and fit Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound pens. Once gauge and length match, the brand is a matter of price and availability.
- Is a thinner needle always better?
- A thinner needle (higher gauge) is usually more comfortable, which is why 32G is the standard. Very thin needles can need slightly more pressure with thick solutions, but for GLP-1 pens, 32G by 4 mm is the proven choice.
